Letter from the Friends

Greetings everyone,
Happy mud season, end of winter, spring! I am not sure what to call it but it is always a good time to snuggle up with a book; I hope you got some good ones from the Friend's annual book sale. We had a banner sale this year. We raised just over $1100 for the library. I am amazed every year that it all comes together as well as it does and it is all due to the great volunteers that show up. Thank you so much to all those that helped. A special thank you to the newly formed "junior" friends who sold baked goods all day. There is a time lapse U-tube video floating around out there of the sale that will let you view the act. When the librarian asked how many people attended the sale (and of course we had not kept track) I did point out that she could count them herself from the video. View it and see how many you count.

It really is time to start thinking about gardening and the Friends will attempt to host our annual plant swap Saturday May 28 at the Old School House Commons from 10am to 1pm. We really need plants to swap to make this work. Please bring anything you are digging up and have extra of or if you raised too many seedlings, share them with your neighbors. Please though do not bring aggressive plants otherwise known as thugs and do not bring plants that may be harboring invasive weeds in their dirt. Plants can be dropped off at the bandstand before or during the swap. If you have any gardening books you would like to pass along, bring those too. This is always a fun time to get together with neighbors and talk (garden!) dirt.

I know I say this every year but we need help! People always help with events and we get by but it would be such a pleasure to have a couple of members that help with organizing these events. Come on and join the Friends!
