A Letter from the Friends, September 2018
Hello Jaquith Community!
Another great summer here in Marshfield – everyone seemed to enjoy the summer concert series put together by our own amazing Susan. Those summer evenings made memories we can use to warm ourselves on cold winter mornings. At every concert we do a head count, and at most of the concerts there were more than 200 people, we had a total of 1,432 this year. That’s a lot of fun and love for our library. The Friends of the Jaquith held a bake and book sale at every concert. Much appreciation for those of you who made baked goods or helped out with the sales – we raised a substantial sum for the library. Coming up on September 30 we have the annual Harvest Festival at the Schoolhouse Common – every year has been more successful than the last. This year at the festival the Friends will be hosting our third annual Chili Cook-Off. Last year was a blast and almost all of the contestants went home with a prize. In February will be our big annual book and bake sale as well.
The Friends of the Jaquith are actively seeking and would welcome new members to the core planning committee of the Friends.We would love to see some fresh volunteer faces, an hour of time setting up, running or breaking down the fundraisers – or baked goods would be very appreciated. Let’s show our Jaquith love!
