The VT Golden Dome Book Award (formerly the Dorothy Canfield Fisher Book Award) was created to honor excellence in children's literature. Each year since 1957, Vermont students in grades 4-8 have selected their favorite book from a list of 30 nominees. It is recommended that students read at least five of the year's nominated titles before voting. Voting takes place in the spring, generally beginning in April.
The Lunch Bunch Book Club - Wednesdays at 1pm.
Youth Services Librarian Carrie King, of the Whiting Library in Chester, Vermont, is hosting a lunchtime book gathering for 9-12 year olds. And she has invited us to join the fun!
The Lunch Bunch Book Club is a book discussion group for kids aged 9-12 years old, in grades 4th-6th. Each week, kids will discuss a book from this year’s Golden Dome Vermont Middle Grade Book Award List. Participants may tell the group about anyVermont Golden Dome Books they’ve been reading and enjoy a read aloud of a book selected by the group.
This is an informal gathering - meant for fun, conversation, connection and to share a love of the great books nominated for this award! If you're interested in joining, please let Deborah know! firstname.lastname@example.org
